Drive toward the beautiful city of Ohrid, which it's the largest city on Lake Ohrid. It's picturesque nature and monument along with other cultural,spiritual and historical features made city part of Unesco World Heritage Sites. Ohrid is mostly famous for its cleanest lake and for the 365 churches,one for each day of the year which is why its has been referred as the 'Balkans Jerusalem'. Today its number its significantly smaller. Ohrid has been a living town for 2500 years. In the second half of the 19th century Ohrid played an important role in the revival of the Macedonian culture. Old city was a walled city and on a strategic crossroads between the Byzantine and Roman Empires. After the city tour you can enjoy the traditional Macedonian cuisine in the innumerous restaurants on the lake shore. A boat trip on lake Ohrid, one of the oldest lakes in the world, will follow our program and take us to our next destination, St. Naum Monastery. St. Naum is an old Eastern-Orthodox monastery established in the year 905 by St. Naum of Ohrid himself. Due to the beautiful setting the monastery is among the most popular destinations in Macedonia. Continue the tour driving along the lake shore and passing by the small village of Tushemisht, the favorite village of the ex communist dictator.
