Lezha and Shkodra

Lezha, in ancient times known as Lissus is the city which holds the grave of the Albanian National Hero, Scanderbeg. We will visit his mausoleum and the Illyrian castle which still stands on the highest hill next to the city. Our next stop will be Shkodra, known as the cultural cradle of Albania. We will visit Rozafa Castle, which holds a beautiful legend and offers a spectacular view over the city, and the Shkodra Lake, which is the biggest lake in the Balkan Peninsula. We will proceed to the very heart of the biggest city in North of Albania, where you can admire the coexistence and an example of religion tolerance. The Big Mosque, The Orthodox church of St. Alexander Nevskij and the Cathedral of Saint Stephan, stand all very close to each other.   We will take a walk through “Kol Idromeno Boulevard” and enjoy the city life among coffee-shops traditional restaurants and souvenirs shops. The “Marubi Museum of Photography” gives us the opportunity to enjoy some of the best works of one of the very first European pioneers of photography.
